Nutritional immunity system
Cancer Center and SNU Graduate School of Public Health jointly examined about 10,000 in-patients of National Cancer Center in 2009, and its result showed that about 35% of examined patients was categorized as ' Serious Poor-nutrition' and 30% was 'Poor-nutrition'. It means only about 30% of cancer patients was in fine nutritional condition while 65% was not. If a patient's nutritional condition is poor after cancer has been treated, his/her immunity decreases and it is more likely that the side effects caused by anti-cancer medications and radiotherapy appear, resulting in increase recurrence rate. Therefore, it is highly important to increase immunity and prevent cancer from recurring by providing enough nourishment. Nutritional immunotherapy not only simply prevents cancer recurrence but also maintains the optimal physical condition, replenishes lacked nutrition, and mitigates the side effects possibly caused from cancer treatment. Nutritional immunotherapy plays a crucial role in making the patient's recovery fast and maintaining immunity continued.
